The European Union is ready to allocate Ukraine EUR 100 million to fill the energy efficiency Fund after the adoption of some bills. This was stated by Vice-President of the European Commission Energy community Maros Sefcovic during a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groysman, transfers a press-service of the Cabinet.
It is reported that Maros Sefcovic said that the EU supports the government’s efforts to reform Ukraine’s energy sector.
“The Vice-President of the European Commission was also briefed on the readiness of the EU to give Ukraine EUR 100 million to fill the Fund of energy efficiency, noting the need for the adoption by the Ukrainian Parliament of laws on the energy efficiency Fund, on the electricity market, the regulator in the spheres of energy and communal services”, – stated in the message.
In turn, Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groisman, discussing the issue of natural gas transit via the territory of Ukraine stressed that the Ukrainian side is a reliable transit country of hydrocarbons in the country-members of the EU.
In addition, as noted in the CMU, during the meeting they talked about the practical issues of cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union in the energy sector, in particular provision of Ukrainian and European consumers of natural gas.
