Ukraine asks the member countries of the UN to increase pressure on Russia

Due to the unprecedented Russian pressure on the Ukrainians, Ukraine calls on member countries of the UN to put pressure on the Russians. This was stated in his letter to UN Secretary-General the permanent representative of Ukraine to the organization Volodymyr Yelchenko, reports 112.ua.

Ukrainian Ambassador to the UN said that the global community should respond to Russia’s actions against Ukraine.

“Repression against Russian citizens of Ukraine are unprecedented. Call on States members of the UN to increase pressure on the aggressor,” – said in the letter.

Recall, a similar statement was made by the Ministry of foreign Affairs, which expressed its categorical protest to the Russian Federation in connection with the ongoing repressions, unlawful detentions, searches and arrests, and torture and ill-treatment of citizens of Ukraine.

As reported, U.S. President Barack Obama signed a decree on new sanctions against Russia. Restrictions will apply to six people and five organizations, including the FSB and the GRU.

In addition, the Americans decided to send 35 Russian diplomats and close access to two objects used by the Russian workers in new York and Maryland. A senior us official called it a “response to a campaign of harassment of American diplomats in Moscow from the Russian authorities”.
