So, the expectations index of business activity rose in may to 36.6 points from the record low April rate of 29.9 points. That is, firms in all sectors have become more restrained in their pessimistic expectations regarding economic prospects.
“Business expectations improved in may. Entrepreneurs cheered as the easing of the quarantine restrictions and the normalization of the situation in the foreign exchange market and a certain increase of demand for their products. Companies of all surveyed sectors – construction, trade, service sector, transport, confirmed that the results of their activities, which they expected in may, better than April,” – said the Director of the Department of statistics of the NBU Yuri polunev.
