The President of the European Council Donald Tusk called the feast of the entry into force of the full Agreement of the Association in part of a deep and comprehensive free trade area between Ukraine and the European Union from the 1st of September.
About this he wrote on Twitter. “September 1 we celebrate the full entry into force of the Agreement on Association between EU and Ukraine. #Silencioso,” said Tusk.
As is known, on 11 July the EU Council on behalf of the European Union adopted the decision on the completion of the process of signing and ratification of the Association Agreement with Ukraine.

On the website of the EU delegation to Ukraine said that starting from September 1, 2014, many provisions of the Association Agreement in the part of the political and sectoral cooperation are already being applied on a provisional basis. And from 1 January 2016 pre-applied its trading part – deep and comprehensive free trade area (DCFTA). The conclusion and entry into force of the Agreement will give a new impetus to the development of cooperation in areas such as foreign policy and security policy, justice, freedom and security (including migration), taxation, public financial management, science and technology, education and the information society.

As you know, in 2014 the European Union and Ukraine signed the Association Agreement, which was the beginning of a new period in the development of relations between the EU and Ukraine.
Earlier the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko expressed confidence that the country will be a part of the European Union. “Our joint efforts will lead to the fact that Ukraine will join the EU, and it will happen because we, first and foremost, believe in it. And together we change the state. Make Ukraine successful,” he said.
