The Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin commented on the scandalous act of the people’s Deputy Alexey Goncharenko, painted fragment of the Berlin wall, after the resonance of the statements of the Ambassador of Germany in Ukraine.
The foreign Minister said, the reaction of the MP was too emotional. According to the Minister, it is an indication of how Ukraine understands what image needs to be performed Minsk agreement and how you need to go to the world.
“I think any act can be explained. This action can be explained emotionally. But in a political context, I think it was unnecessary. The German side does not see it as something consciously directed against her. But we know that we all have a lot of emotion. Sometimes emotions need to hold back and choose the other way – for example, political,” he said.
The Minister noted that the problem is not just the content of what was said by the German Ambassador, but in how it was said in the above comparisons, in the tone.
“But I want to emphasize that what is happening does not affect the context of Ukrainian-German relations. We know the German position. I work very closely with all members – not only those responsible for foreign policy in Berlin, know their position”, – explained Klimkin.
“I believe these few sentences in the context of our friendship with Germany is really exhausted,” he concluded.
As reported, the Ambassador of Germany in Ukraine, Ernst Reichel said that the elections in the Donbass can be held in the presence of Russian troops. This caused a strong reaction in society.
Then the German Ambassador was summoned “on the carpet” the foreign Ministry of Ukraine to give explanations of his words.
In response, the people’s Deputy Goncharenko red paint wrote the word “No” in the section of the Berlin wall at the Embassy of Germany in Kiev.
