Ukraine since the beginning launched 13 October 2016 heating season and through February 4, 2017, has lowered natural gas reserves in its underground storages (UGS) 35% to 9.58 billion cubic meters.
In particular, on 4 February, the selection was 58,89 million cubic meters and the whole 1 – Feb 4 – 304,63 million cubic meters on average, the selection was of 75.16 million cubic meters/day.
As of 4 February 2017 gas were imported in the daily mode 47,859 million cubic meters (Slovakia – 40,597 million cubic meters, Hungary – 3,548 million cubic meters, Poland – 3,714 million cubic meters). Gas imports from the Russian Federation is not carried out by Ukraine on 26 November 2015.
Thus, today the Ukrainian UGS filled at 30%.
We recall that earlier Ukraine in the frosty days of January, despite predictions, hasn’t exceeded the daily withdrawal from storage facilities in the amount of 100 million cubic meters, although technologically possible rise of about 1% of existing inventory. The maximum of this year was reached on January 7 – 89,65 million cubic meters.
As you know, the NJSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine” is considered formed in the underground storage of gas reserves sufficient for passage of the heating season, despite the fact that the government of Ukraine demanded to accumulate in UGS more than 17 billion cubic meters of gas.
According to the calculations, the NAK at the end of the heating season in the vaults will still be 7-8 billion cubic meters with an acceptable value of 5 billion cubic meters of the Ukrainian hydrometeorological center predicts that the heating season, from the point of view of the temperature conditions in Ukraine lasts 160-180 days.
