In Vienna, special forces detained the natives of Chechnya. The inhabitants of one of districts of the city drew attention to the impressive group of people on the street and called the police. Arrived on call the police suspicious, the people said, “just hanging out”. Police noticed one of them had a gun and called for backup. Police have detained 22 people. During the search they also found a pistol and another gun.
The Minister of internal Affairs of Austria Wolfgang Sobotka said that it is not the terrorists that the detainees can be related to organized crime and to participate in the conflict between several factions. It was also found that the alleged perpetrators have applied for political asylum, 16 of them received refugee status, four applications are considered, and two have been denied. The interior Ministry said that refugees should not “overstay their welcome”.
