President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that defense industry of the country in 2016 has shown its effectiveness, despite the difficulties with financing, the press service of the head of state.
“Expenditures of the General Fund budget, which accounted for about 58% of total funding, was funded at 100%, and the expenses of the special Fund was financed by less than 1%. But despite this, during 2016, the defense complex of Ukraine work on a solid “four”, a solid “good,” – said Poroshenko at the meeting of the Council of national security and defense.
He recalled that last year on Armed forces was adopted 17 new or deeply modernized samples of weapons and military equipment. Among them is a new sanitary BTR-4, new repair BTR-4-RM special hardware SA-10B, a new gun and many more. The President stated: “the troops are already well appreciated first research experience in operation of modern weapons.”
According to him, in a combat zone were also conducted trial operation of the BTR-3. In addition, this armored vehicle is very well demonstrated itself during the fighting, he has a huge export potential. Is also research and exploitation of tactical and combat wheeled vehicle “Dozor-B”.
The head of state reminded that only 2.5 years ago, Ukraine was not armed with any effective unmanned aerial vehicle. Now the situation has changed, he said.
Special attention Petro Poroshenko drew on the fact that the state concern “Ukroboronprom” in the initiative order at the expense of own resources last year has created a number of innovative samples of new missiles, including a RS-80, unmanned aircraft complex “Dove”, “Phantom”. Also developed combat modules for armored vehicles, which proved themselves very well in battle, the President added.
We will remind, Poroshenko called for increased export of weapons of Ukrainian origin.
