By Gerashchenko during this time, terrorists organized a surveillance at the place of residence and place of work. After receiving evidence of criminal intent and information about the presence of the explosive device, SBU officers carried out the arrests in the act.
Against the suspects prosecuted under article 112 of the CC – an attempt on the life of a statesman, the maximum sentence possible in this case – life imprisonment. The investigators conduct an examination of the explosive devices seized from the detainees and check their possible involvement in other crimes on the territory of Ukraine, in particular, the assassination attempt on journalist Pavel Sheremet.
