The candidate in presidents of France, the leader of “National front” marine Le Pen has once again promised to recognized annexed Crimea a part of Russia.
“The affiliation of Crimea to Ukraine was merely an administrative issue of Soviet times, the Peninsula was never Ukrainian,” — said Le Pen in an interview to “Izvestia”.
This is also Le Pen spoke on 3 January, in an interview with BFMTV. Then she said that the annexation of Crimea to Russia was not “illegal”.
“I don’t believe that it was an illegal annexation: there was a referendum, the residents of Crimea wanted to join Russia”, — said the politician.
This statement provoked a sharp response, Le Pen has threatened to close the entrance to the territory of Ukraine.
As you know, the annexation of Crimea by Russia occurred in the spring of 2014. The Russian military invaded the Peninsula, and was followed by the so-called “referendum” that the international community does not recognize as legitimate.
