Ukraine will receive $ 350 million from the world Bank in July
After allocation of the first tranche stand-by arrangement from the International monetary Fund (IMF) Ukraine could receive first tranche of financial assistance from the world Bank in July. The amount of this tranche will total $ 350 million. This was stated by the Minister of Finance, Sergei Marchenko, said Mind.
In General, the amount of aid from the world Bank to be $ 1 billion. In addition, Ukraine can count on the second tranche from the IMF and financial assistance from the European Commission.
“It is expected to obtain several loans. First of all, it’s payments to the IMF until the end of 2020 (first tranche – $ 2.1 billion, the amount of second-and third – $ 1.4 billion). We also plan to obtain financial assistance from the European Commission (the amount of 1.2 billion € + 0.5 billion euros),” – said Marchenko.
On 10 June, the Executive Board of the International monetary Fund approved an 18-month standby arrangement for Ukraine with access to 3.6 billion special drawing rights SDR (about 5 billion U.S. dollars).
The “Today” wrote that the world Bank expects that in 2020 the Ukrainian economy will shrink by 3.5%, whereas the fall of the world economy will reach 5.2%.The exit from the crisis will depend on the situation in the field of health, progress in implementing reforms and ability to attract funding.
