In 2019, the EU imported of 3.24 million tons of agricultural products, more than 10% of which goes to Ukraine
Ukraine, which recently made changes to customs tariffs, increasing the volume of imported organic products to the EU. This is stated in the annual report of the European Commission “the Import of organic agricultural products in the EU, key changes in 2019”.
By the end of 2019 Ukraine took the first place in Europe and second largest in the world (123 countries) in the export volume of organic products in the EU.
“The growing demand of European consumers to the Ukrainian organic products is evidence of its high quality and competitiveness. The leading position of Ukraine in world trade in organic products shows the active development of this industry and is a priority in the agricultural policy of the Ministry”, – said Deputy Minister of economy, trade and agriculture of Ukraine – sales representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka.
