Took another round of Minsk talks between Ukraine, Russia and OSCE
Elections in Donbas possible only after the Ukrainian territory will be removed by foreign troops, disarm the militants and the border will come under the control of Ukraine. This was stated by the representatives of Ukraine in the political subgroup of the Trilateral contact group at the next negotiations on the Donbass, which took place via videoconference.
Kiev reminded the Russian invaders on the implementation of the Minsk agreements.
“The elections on the temporarily occupied territories of Donbas can be held only after security requirements, in particular the withdrawal of foreign troops from Ukrainian territory and the disarmament of military forces, Ukraine control of the border and solely under the Ukrainian legislation, provided that the activities of Ukrainian mass media, political parties and international observers”, – is spoken in the message of Office of the President on the results of the Minsk talks.
As reported “Today”, informed President Vladimir Zelensky called primary goal in the negotiations on the Donbass. According to him, the participants of the “Normandy format” insist on the Russian version of the settlement in the Donbass: at first elections, and then the transfer of the border to Ukraine. But the Ukrainian leader not agree with that.
At the same time, Deputy Prime Minister for European integration (formerly the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine) Vadim pristayko do not exclude that after the elections in Donbass militants may fall greedily to power. According to him, the aim of the elections in the Donbass – the power to elect at the lowest level, but believes that there can get the current traitors of Ukraine.
