Quarantine nothing to do with it: what products have risen in price in Ukraine

The increase in food prices was the strongest in recent years, experts say

In April food prices in Ukraine grew by 2.2%, but it is not related to the extension of the quarantine. This was announced by Director of the National scientific center “Institute of agrarian economy” lupenko, the press service of the centre.

“In March, the price increase compared to February of 0.4%. The relatively low level of inflation shows that during the period of quarantine, introduced in Ukraine since March 12, 2020, and quite possible growth of consumer prices for foodstuffs did not happen”, – stated in the message.

However, this can be explained by the fact that decreased the purchasing power of Ukrainians during the quarantine, many lost part or all of the earnings.
