NABU explained why he closed one of the cases against ex-Deputy Grymchak

The case concerned the Declaration of false information

The former Deputy Minister on the issues of the temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons Yury Grymchak, who is suspected of extortion of a bribe, reported that the National anticorruption Bureau of Ukraine was closed against him one thing.

“Excited to NAB a case against me under article 366 criminal code of Ukraine, closed for lack of corpus delicti”, – he wrote in Facebook.

NABU said that we are talking about criminal proceedings which was opened in November 2019, based on the opinion of the national Agency for prevention of corruption the results of a full scan of the Declaration of the Deputy Minister for 2016.

“As part of the investigation detectives have not established in the actions of a person intent on making knowingly false information, so the case was closed”, – stated in the message.

At the same time in the NAB stressed that the former official still has the status of a suspect in a fraud and incitement to giving undue advantage.

“At the beginning of April the NAB had completed investigation into the matter until the defense gets acquainted with the case materials, after which he was sent to the court, and the former official will appear in court”, – is spoken in the message.

We will remind, in August of last year employees of the NABU and the SBU under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General’s office detained Yury Grymchak and his assistant for extortion of a bribe in the amount of $ 1.1 million. They were detained during receiving part of funds in the amount of 480 thousand dollars.
