Ukraine and Israel are very close to FTA

Ukraine and Israel have made the next round of negotiations on a free trade area (FTA).
This was announced by Deputy Minister of economic development and trade – trade representative of Ukraine Nataliya Mykolska on his page in Facebook.

“Today we are a step closer to the creation of another free trade area. Completed another round of negotiations. Negotiations are very intense and difficult, but we managed to get to the finish line,” said Gaina.

“We aim to provide duty-free access of more agricultural and industrial goods to the Israeli market,” said Gaina, adding that the FTA should open new opportunities for Ukrainian exporters.

According to her, Ukraine is important to the FTA earned for participation of Ukrainian business in the global value chains in the context of Israel’s participation in the Regional Convention of pan-Euro-Med.

Earlier Mykolska also clarified that the FTA between Ukraine and Israel may contain some exceptions for some groups of agricultural products.

It is expected that the trade turnover between the countries in 2017 could reach $ 1 billion. According to foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin, the potential trade of Ukraine and Israel to each other is $ 5 billion. with a possible increase annually by 20%.
