In may 2017 the consumption of oil in Ukraine amounted to 22.2 thousand tons, which is two times less than in the same period last year (45.4 thousand tons), OilNews.
According to the state statistics, for five months 2017 the consumption of heating oil amounted to 303 thousand tons, which is 6,2% less than in January-may 2016
According to estimates of “Consulting group A-95”, the balance of the Ukrainian market of fuel oil in may 2017 amounted to 17.7 million tonnes, almost unchanged compared to may 2016 (17,9 thousand tons). In the “A-95” note that the balance of the Ukrainian market of oil for five months of 2017 amounted to 209 thousand tonnes, which is 18% less than in January–may 2016.
Drop balance of oil in 2017 is due to the large volume of supply in December 2016 – 82 thousand tons and higher average winter temperatures, otmechat experts.
According to experts, excess deliveries were caused by the fears of traders in connection with a possible limitation of circulation of fuel oils with high sulphur content. Adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers resolution on the renewal of the technical regulations on the use in Ukraine of fuel oil with a sulphur content above 1% until 2018 and applies only to Ukrainian producers. Imported inputs must be supplied exclusively to the TES, CHP and stationary boilers.
