The decision on responsive action in case of introduction of Ukraine’s visa regime for Russians will be made by the President of the Russian Federation. As the correspondent of UNIAN in the Russian Federation, the journalists in Moscow said the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov.
“We fairly consistently say that such actions receive a response, based on the principle of reciprocity, as a rule. There is nothing new, but you can certainly say that the response, of course,” Peskov said, answering the question, does the final decision of the Russian side, the statement of the foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov’s willingness to take similar measures in case of introduction of Ukraine’s visa regime with the Russian Federation.
“What kind and to what extent the reaction is already other question, it is adjustable on the go and is decided by the President in the first place”, – said Peskov.
We will remind, on June 6, the Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia will introduce a visa regime with Ukraine in response to similar actions of Kiev.
“When talking seriously about the introduction of the visa regime, do you think we have it all to swallow and not to reciprocate?”, he said.
On the preparation of the introduction of a visa regime with the Russian Federation Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin said on 22 December 2016. 30 December, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andrew Parubiy expressed hope that in 2017 the Parliament will agree on introduction of a visa regime with Russia.
June 1, 2017 the Ministry of justice stated that Ukraine is ready to introduce visa regime with the Russian Federation, but required a political decision.
