Scientists call the products that are killing us

Journal of the American Medical Association reports that more than half of deaths from heart disease, stroke, and type II diabetes in developed countries are associated with malnutrition.

Researchers from tufts University found that just 10 types of food — too many or, on the contrary, the disadvantage can significantly increase the risk of death from these diseases

Products, the amount of which is to limit

In the first place is salt with 9.5% of all deaths, second red meat and processed meat(bacon, sausages) with 8% of deaths, and the third sweet drinks from 7.4% of deaths.

On the other side are the products, which number in menu, on the contrary, should be increased.

So, low consumption of nuts was associated with a 9% of deaths from cardiovascular disease and diabetes from the total sample, and the lack of fish, seafood, whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables is 6-8% of the deaths on each of the items.

“The good news is that we now understand at what points in the diet should pay attention to reduce the risk of death from cardiometabolic disorders,” says nutritionist and epidemiologist, the study’s lead author Renata Micha.

Data analysis also allowed to say that proper nutrition (i.e., presence in the diet of a sufficient number of “good” products and limiting “bad” foods), in most cases is associated with other healthy habits.

People who monitor their diet, enough move, sleep six to eight hours a day and more effectively cope with stress overloads.

The scientists added that in any case you don’t have to give up your favorite foods if you want to extend your life. Another thing is that their consumption should be moderate, as evidenced by numerous studies.
