In the European Union are convinced that the legislative structure of the National Agency for combating corruption (NACP) should be revised to improve the efficiency of the Agency. This was stated by the head of the European Union to Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli.
“For me it is not a question of personality – is the question of the structure of the Agency. It is not adequate as collective. A few weeks ago, the Minister Petrenko (Minister of justice Pavel Petrenko. – Ed.) talked about the fact that the structure of the Agency will be reviewed to ensure that the work of NACP was more effective. And it should be done,” he said, commenting on the need for the resignation of the head of the NACP Natalia Korchak.
While Mingarelli agreed that the current legislation guarantees the independence of the Agency, but stressed the need to provide a clear division of responsibility.
We will remind, the Minister of justice Pavlo Petrenko considers necessary to carry out the official investigation concerning the activities of the NACP and by holding a public contest to change the current composition of the Agency.
