Poroshenko and Trudeau “synchronized their watches” on the eve of the NATO summit

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has held a phone conversation with Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau. About it reports a press-service of the President of Ukraine.

Poroshenko told the Prime Minister of Canada on the situation in the Donbas and continuing violation of Russia Minsk agreements. The President of Ukraine expressed confidence that the leaders of NATO and the G7 will give a proper assessment of this situation, in particular to continue the sanctions pressure on Moscow.

The Prime Minister of Canada, in turn, assured that the coalition of the Great Seven countries and NATO “committed to supporting Ukraine”, the press service of the President.

As reported, the sides also discussed ways to further enhance bilateral relations. Poroshenko and Trudeau welcomed the recent ratification by the canadian Senate a free trade Agreement that opens the way for full implementation of the FTA in the near future.

Poroshenko thanked Canada for its position in the development of defense cooperation, as evidenced by the continued training mission UNIFIER and the signing of the agreement on defense cooperation.

The President of Ukraine noted that the adoption by the EU of the decision on granting visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens creates conditions for the intensification of dialogue on liberalization of visa regime between Ukraine and Canada.

We will remind, earlier Poroshenko and the President of France Emmanuel macron discussed the situation in the Donbas.
