The President of the United States Donald trump today held a meeting with the foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov. The white house has already issued a statement about the meeting, the TV channel “112 Ukraine”.
The statement said that Donald trump told Sergei Lavrov that his administration is ready to continue to participate in the settlement of the conflict in the Donbass. It is also said that trump has underlined Russia’s responsibility for the full implementation of the Minsk agreements.
“The President raised the issue of Ukraine and expressed readiness of his administration to continue to participate in the conflict settlement and stressed Russia’s responsibility for the full implementation of the Minsk agreements”, – said in a statement the White House.
In addition they talked about the need to work together to end the conflict in Syria, in particular stressing the need for Russia to rein in Assad’s regime, Iran and Iranian intermediaries.
He also raised the issue of wider cooperation on conflict resolution in the middle East and elsewhere. The President also underlined his desire to develop better relations between the United States and Russia.
