The court of appeal reversed the decision to close the case Martynenko, NABOO

The appellate court of Kiev cancelled the decision of Solomenskiy district court of Kiev on the obligation to the NAB to close the proceedings against former people’s Deputy Nikolay Martynenko. This was reported in the press service of the National anticorruption Bureau of Ukraine.

“On April 14 the court of Appeal of Kyiv upheld the position of the National anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine and Specialized anti-corruption Prosecutor’s office and quashed the decision of Solomenskiy district court of Kyiv, which, in fact, forced to stop pre-trial investigation of facts of obtaining illegal benefit in the procurement of state enterprise “NAEK “Energoatom” of equipment from the Czech company Škoda JS (known in the media as “business Martynenko”)”, – stated in the message.

Therefore, the detectives NAB would continue the investigation.

As recalled in the anti-corruption Bureau, the criminal proceedings on the facts of obtaining illegal benefit in the procurement of SE “NNEGC “Energoatom” NABU registered in December of 2015. During the investigation detectives Bureau found evidence of harm to the interests of SOE “NNEGC “Energoatom” in the amount of 6.4 million euros in connection with the overpayment for the purchased equipment from a Czech joint stock company Škoda JS. In an ongoing scheme involved foreign companies.

During the investigation, the NEB has issued requests for international legal assistance to the eight countries. The answers to most of them already received, the report underlines.
