The main task of the state should be the protection of its information space, especially in the event of war with Russia. This opinion was expressed by adviser to the Minister of internal Affairs Zoryan Shkiryak in an interview with “Apostrophe”.
“VKontakte” and “Classmates” are networks that are fully controlled by the Russian special services. I think I just did not discover America. To win the war not only in the trenches but also in the information space – and this is no less important,” – said Shkiryak.
He added that in a hybrid war, the Kremlin is waging against Ukraine, a considerable proportion of “informational terror” carried out by Russian special services, in particular via the famous social networks – “Vkontakte” and “Classmates”.
“According to our data, there are currently and actively spreading information from more than 2.5 thousand anti-Ukrainian groups. It is only groups. Of course, someone will say: “there is also a Pro-Ukrainian group.” But their proportion is much less,” – said the adviser to the interior Minister.
Zorian Shkiryak stressed that it is very often someone is trying to blame the fact that the ban on Russian social networks in Ukraine is an attack on freedom of speech. But people need to understand that Ukraine is more important – the state and its protection against information terror or free communication.
“I’m not talking about the destructiveness of these social networks: we have heard about the therapy death and all openly provocative actions in the information space against the integrity of Ukraine. Given these facts, I remain a supporter of the closure of these networks,” he said.
He added that already some MPs are willing to support his initiative.
