The world Bank is thinking about new “investments” in Ukraine

The world Bank (WB) is ready to consider the possibility of starting a new targeted programmes of financial support to Ukraine. This was stated by Vice-President of the WB Kyle Peters
at the meeting with the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groisman.

“We are ready to continue our cooperation aimed at support of reforms by the Ukrainian government, and to consider the possibility of starting a new targeted programmes of financial support for Ukraine,” said Peters.

Groisman, in turn, praised the level of cooperation between Ukraine and the world Bank, thanked for the support in carrying out necessary changes.

“In many sectors we have the support of experts from the world Bank: from banking and energy to reforms in the social sphere. … Of course, we attach special importance to cooperation with the world Bank and are interested in how to effectively pursue it further”, – said Groisman.

Vice-presidents of the Bank noted significant progress made by the Ukrainian government for the last eight months to stabilize the economy, restore economic growth, raise the minimum wage.
They are also assured of the readiness of the world Bank to support Ukraine on the path of reforms.

We will remind, the world Bank group over the past two years has provided Ukraine with about $ 4.7 billion in the form of a fiscal financial assistance, investment operations and financing of the private sector.

As reported, the international monetary Fund (IMF) decided on the date of the meeting on Ukraine, which will decide the allocation to Kiev the next tranche of a billion dollars.
