The security service of Ukraine intends to hold a conversation with the people’s Deputy Hope Savchenko on the subject of her visit to the Ukrainian prisoners of war in the occupied Donetsk, as well as to verify the information voiced by the people’s Deputy Tatyana Rychkova, that Savchenko allegedly instigated the current Ukrainian servicemen to overthrow the government in Ukraine.
“Especially for MPs we don’t, but having received information from MP Rychkova, we’ll be sure to check out these data, not even waiting for the official address of Mrs. Rychkova,” said the chief of staff to the head of SBU Alexander Tkachuk on Friday.
He stressed: “This is too serious accusations to be ignored.”
In this context, Tkachuk stressed that the head of the security service of Ukraine Vasily Gritsak has already instructed military intelligence to carry out the relevant work, to question the servicemen referred to by the Deputy Rychkova. “Accordingly, the results of this inspection, we will inform the public,” he added.
He stressed that currently, the criminal proceedings in connection with the appeared information is not registered, is only a preliminary check.
The chief of staff of the SBU added that will be obtained if grounds for commencement, it will be done.
Answering the question whether the SBU that Savchenko went to Donetsk together with the head of the Central release of prisoners “Officer corps” Vladimir Ruban to visit Ukrainian POWs, Tkachuk noted that it was “a different situation, which will be validated”.
“This information we will verify that this is not the first action that Ms. Savchenko is doing together with Ruban”, – said the representative of the SBU.
Tkachuk noted that Savchenko is not obliged to inform about his movements as the people’s Deputy, “but I guess we all need to remember how Savchenko fell captive, and then in the Russian Federation. Now visit the occupied territories causes a certain bewilderment.”
In this context, he stressed the need to Savchenko told SBU about what purpose she visits the occupied territories. “I think that definitely our staff will do is that it somehow explained his actions if she wants it,” said Tkachuk.
In turn, the adviser to the interior Minister of Ukraine Zorian Shkiryak on his page on the social network Facebook expressed the belief that the relatively Savchenko has every reason to open criminal proceedings under article 109 of the Criminal code of Ukraine (actions aimed at violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order or the seizure of state power). “Hope for a swift and adequate reaction of the GPU and the SBU… Personally received confirmation of the words of Tatiana Rychkova from their fellow paratroopers from the front,” – said Shkiryak.
Itself Savchenko later on his page in Facebook urged citizens of Ukraine to support her as she supposedly risking his life for the liberation of Ukrainian prisoners of war.
“I ask all of Ukraine to support me, supported me when I was in captivity. I now consciously took the risk of his life to free our Ukrainian prisoners and to bring the humanitarian component of the Minsk process to the final… really, really tough, but I fight” – she wrote on his page in the social network.
Earlier on Friday, February 24, people’s Deputy of Ukraine of the faction “Block of Petro Poroshenko” Tatiana Rychkova reported that Savchenko instigated the military to overthrow the government in Ukraine, and called on the General Prosecutor’s office and SBU to investigate the actions of the MP.
Later that same day, the representative of the so-called defense of “DNR” said that Savchenko on Friday arrived in Donetsk, where he plans to meet with Ukrainian prisoners of war.
