Deregulation of the oil and gas market in Ukraine, the creation of an energy efficiency Fund and implementation of energy efficiency programs will reduce energy consumption and improve the quality of housing and communal services in the country. This was stated by Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman in the air of ICTV channel, reports a press-service of the government.
“Our priority is reducing energy consumption while improving the quality of service provision, in particular heat and water”, – said the Prime Minister.
Groisman added that to date, 6.7 million households in Ukraine received social protection for payment of housing and communal services “for each person in need, the government has allocated targeted funds”.
After the deregulation of the oil and gas market of “Naftogaz of Ukraine” for the first time, had revenue of 21 billion. “Previously, these funds went to the pockets of those who worked around oil and gas schemes,” – said Groisman, adding that the income received due to the fact that wealthy Ukrainians pay for utility services.
Speaking of energy efficiency measures, he also gave the example of the implemented program “Warm credits”, which today is used by about 118 thousand households in the country.
Earlier, Zubkov expressed hope that the Verkhovna Rada already in the first plenary week of February 7-10, will consider the bill on the establishment of energy efficiency Fund.
