Today, February 11, died the chief of the National defence University of Ukraine named. Ivan Chernyakhovsky Gennady Vorobyov. As reported by the volunteer Yury Biryukov, he died in office.

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko expressed condolences on the death of Colonel-General Gennady Vorobyov. The head of state noted the contribution Vorobyov Ukraine.

Colonel-General Gennady Vorobyov (born in 1961) from 18 November 2009 to 17 January 2014 held the position of commander of Land forces of Armed forces of Ukraine.
16 February 2014 was the first Deputy chief of the General staff of the armed forces.
