The head of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin plans in March to meet with all the candidates for the presidency of France, including with the leader of the French far-right party marine Le Pen. About this Klimkin said on air of the channel “1+1”.
“I really believe in democratic traditions and the ideals of the French… As a foreign Minister, I must consider all options, and we are working on all possible scenarios”, – said Klimkin.
He also noted that the representatives of the foreign Ministry work with different staffs and political parties and journalists. Klimkin acknowledged that Ukraine is considering all possible scenarios of the presidential race.
“I’ll be in March, at least twice in Paris and plan to meet with all the candidates and to ask our Ambassador, he told me to set up the meeting, if possible, with marine Le Pen, and I’ll show her the materials that we have prepared, including in Crimea in the framework of our action under the Convention on the prohibition of racial discrimination”, – said Klimkin.
As reported, elections of the President of France will be held in two rounds – on April 23 and may 7. President expect the leader of the party “national front” marine Le Pen, the ex-Prime Minister Francois Fillon, former Minister of the economy Emmanuel macron.
Earlier, Le Pen already spoke about the fact that if elected President she recognizes Crimea as Russian territory. Also, the presidential candidate noted that relations between Russia and France are important in a multipolar world and necessary for the resolution of international crises.
