Ukraine does not buy coal for thermal power plants from the zone of hostilities in the Donbass, according to the formula Rotterdam+, said the Minister of energy and coal industry Igor Nasalik, calling it yet another myth.
“Myth No. 2 is that Ukraine buys coal from the zone ATO Rotterdam+”, – said Nasalik.
However, he gave an example of the difference between the cost of coal API2 (used in the formula Rotterdam+) and the price at which the Ukrainian fuel purchasing TES.
“In October this difference was 1500 UAH between Rotterdam price+ and price, which are consumed in Ukraine. In November amounted to UAH 1,600. Today, when you increase the price of Ukrainian coal to 1730 UAH, the difference (between the price of coal from the Donbas and world prices – ed.) is 1100 UAH”, – said the Minister.
“Therefore, any manipulation of that from the zone ATO transportation of coal payable at Rotterdam+ do not correspond to reality,” – said Nasalik.
As reported, activists in uniform and members of Parliament have blocked a few Railways with the uncontrolled territory of Donbass. As of 7 February 11 is the day of the siege. The Prosecutor’s office opened a criminal case against the participants of the blockade, because their actions are illegal.
Note that the blockade will inevitably lead not only to rolling blackouts, but also to the shortfall in the budget. Alternative – coal from Russia. The purchase of coal in Russia is possible only for the currency at a high price that will inevitably lead to the growth rate. Moreover, the blockade is a priori illegal and undermines the investment climate of the country, and this is not a short-term problem for the country, and the damage for years.
