The President of Moldova Igor Dodon before the visit to Brussels said that most of the expectations from the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU was not justified.
He recalls the expectations that the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU and creation of free trade zone will lead to the opening of the European market and increase exports of Moldovan products, and to strengthen the investment attractiveness of Moldova and to increase the inflow of foreign investment, towards a sustainable external financial support for the reforms.
“However, most of the expectations were not met,” – said the President.
“Recently, the government announced that the plan of action for the implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU for 2014-2016 is made on 73,73%. But the government somehow does not bind the implementation of the action plan with specific outcomes experienced by the population and business,” he writes.
He reminds them about the reduction of exports to the EU and Russia, reducing investment, increasing public debt.
Igor Dodon already have repeatedly spoken out negatively regarding the Association Agreement with the EU.
In particular, during his visit to Moscow he said that he hopes that the Association Agreement Moldova-EU, Chisinau will be cancelled after the next parliamentary elections.
