The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a telephone conversation with President of the United States of America Donald trump. This was announced by the representative of the Ukrainian President Svyatoslav Tsigalko.
“Petro Poroshenko congratulated his colleague with his inauguration as head of the United States and called for the intensification of dialogue at all levels with the new American administration, – said Tsegolko.
According to him, the sides discussed the issues of strengthening of strategic partnership between Ukraine and the USA. Special attention was paid to the settlement of the situation in the Donbass and achieving peace through political and diplomatic means. “The parties expressed deep concern over the escalation of tension and worsening humanitarian situation, primarily in the area of Avdeevka. They stressed the urgent need for the establishment of a regime of complete ceasefire”, – he said.
It is also reported that the President of Ukraine thanked the White house for its strong support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. “Petro Poroshenko called for the intensification of economic and business ties will promote creation of new workplaces and growth of welfare of citizens of both countries,” – said Tsegolko.
During the conversation they also discussed the upcoming visit of President Petro Poroshenko in Washington for the preparation of which in the US will go the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
