Lukashenko asks Russia to give Belarus military aircraft instead of a military base

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko during a press conference said that the transfer of the Belorussia military aircraft more reasonable than the creation of a Russian military base in Babruisk. About it reports “TASS”.

“Why from the military point of view this database? You don’t need it here. This base and the planes that they (Russia – ed.) want to plant there is a demonstration,” – said Lukashenko.

However, the Belarusian President reminded Russia that countries are another group and asked the Federation to give them 20 military aircraft.

“We have great pilots, we have a great school. You know what we are fighting is not worse than on military aircraft. You give us 20 aircraft – we are a United group,” he said.

We will remind, in September 2015, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin ordered to sign an agreement to establish air base in Belarus. As reported by Russian media, the airbase was to begin its operation in January 2016.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko in turn said that such a base is not necessary neither Russia, nor Belarus.
