In the evening, before UN security Council meeting on the situation in Ukraine, the militants continued shelling residential districts of the Town. This was announced at a meeting of the UN Security Council in new York, Ambassador Volodymyr Yelchenko, the TV channel “112 Ukraine”.
“Before the briefing, we received information that the separatist forces continued shelling of residential districts of the Town using artillery systems of high calibre. The number of houses under fire, there were attacks all over the city. One of the shells exploded near the temporary station of heat supply, installed by the authorities to ensure heat to citizens in sub-zero temperature,” – said in the message.
We will remind, in the vicinity of the Town for the fifth day do not stop attacks. The situation remains tense. 31 January in the town declared a state of emergency in connection with the aggravation of the situation due to the activation of the militants and the threat of a humanitarian catastrophe.
