Telephone conversation of the presidents of the United States and Russia Donald trump, and Vladimir Putin was an important beginning for improving relations between the two countries, according to the White house.
“A good conversation has become an important starting step towards improving relations between the US and Russia that need to be corrected,” reads a press release from the White house.
“The conversation lasted about an hour, revolved around topics related to mutual cooperation in the fight against “Islamic state”, as well as efforts to achieve peace, including the situation in Syria,” – said in a statement.
Trump and Putin hope that the parties will be able to move quickly to combat terrorism and other important issues of mutual interest.
Earlier, the press service of the Kremlin also appreciated the conversation conducted positively, saying that it took place “in a positive and business-like manner”.
As previously reported, 28 Jan Donald trump held telephone talks with the leaders of the five States. The President of Russia Vladimir Putin was the fifth in this list.
