The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during a telephone conversation congratulated the Prime Minister of Malta Joseph Muscat with Malta’s chairmanship in the EU Council in the first half of 2017. About it reports a press-service of the President of Ukraine.
The leaders discussed key issues on the agenda of relations between Ukraine and the EU on a six-month term and coordinated approach to the strengthening of relations between Kiev and Brussels.
During the conversation they expressed confidence that Ukraine will continue to remain among the key priorities of the European Union.
The leaders discussed the steps required to complete EU party of all procedures for the visa-free regime for citizens of Ukraine, and stressed the importance of the early entry into force of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.
Poroshenko expressed gratitude for the strong stance and strong support for the EU in the restoration of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, including Crimea.
The two leaders also discussed steps to intensify economic cooperation, particularly in agriculture and transport.
Muscat invited Poroshenko to visit Malta on a visit at a convenient time.
