Today the entire civilized world is under threat, as all countries professing democratic values, are enemies of Russia. This was stated by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko at a joint press conference with Vice-President of the USA Joe Biden.
“This year marks 3 years as Russia has unleashed a real war against our country. This war, which killed 10 thousand Ukrainian civilians and military. This war continues today. Only in the last three days of our military continued to fire more than 250 times”, – said Poroshenko.
At the same time, as stressed by the head of state, “Ukraine understands that we are not the only enemy for Moscow.”
“All who profess democratic values, are enemies of the Kremlin. And so today, the protection of Ukraine is the protection of the values of the free world. Threats remain. Russia seeks to avoid responsibility. To offset military setbacks, she tries to destabilize the internal situation in Ukraine to provoke unrest. It aims to split the TRANS-Atlantic and European unity. In our power to oppose these plans – first and foremost, by launching the road map, the implementation of the Minsk agreements and continue successful domestic reforms,” he said.
Meanwhile, Poroshenko thanked the U.S. and personally to Biden for supporting Ukraine and to extend sanctions against Russia.
“I emphasize that these sanctions should remain valid until it is restored the territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders, including the Crimea”, – said the President.
The head of state announced that the negotiations with the Vice-President of the United States, the two sides exchanged ideas about further construction of the U.S.-Ukraine strategic partnership.
“We respect the democratic choice of the American people and is ready for effective and fruitful cooperation with the new administration. Ukraine always had and continues to have bipartisan support from the us Congress, the us administration and the American people. I hope to continue the Ukrainian issue will be to unite the entire American political elite, and on the Ukrainian question will remain among the priorities. As reported, Joe Biden tonight arrived in Ukraine on an official visit. First Vice-President met with the Prime Minister Groisman, and later with President Poroshenko.
