Russian diplomat Andrei Malanin died from natural causes, reported the Russian Embassy, informs “Radio freedom”.
Diplomatic representation of Russia made the statement on 10 January, citing forensic experts.
Greek police also said that there are no signs of violence at the scene.
55-year-old Malanin was the head of the consular Department of the Russian Embassy. On 9 January he was found dead in his apartment in the Greek capital Athens.
As previously reported, at the opening of the photo exhibition in Ankara was attacked by Russian Ambassador Andrei Karlov. From the received wounds the diplomat died. Arrow, which, according to the mayor of Ankara, he served in the police, destroyed in a special operation. The Russian foreign Ministry called the incident a terrorist attack, stressing that Moscow will raise the question about the murder of Ambassador before the UN security Council.
