The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko congratulated on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and the United States, noting that the United States remain a reliable and strategic partner of Ukraine. About it reports a press-service of the President.
“Since the recognition of independence of Ukraine the United States remains a reliable and strategic partner of Ukraine both on a bilateral level and within international organizations. At the same time between the two States laid a real democratic partnership in which the United States continues to provide invaluable practical assistance in the development of state institutions, civil society, market economy and strengthening the security of our country”, – said Poroshenko.
“Abandoning the world’s third largest nuclear Arsenal and large amounts of conventional weapons and stockpiles of highly enriched uranium, Ukraine plays a historical role in strengthening global security and non-proliferation of nuclear weapons”, – said the President of Ukraine.
SW said it was a difficult decision, but Ukraine adopted them, relying on the assurances and security guarantees of foreign partners, “primarily the United States.”
Poroshenko thanked for the continued bipartisan support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine by the United States, “in difficult times the Russian aggression”, when the Ukrainian government protects the key principles of freedom and democracy, which “laid the Foundation of the success and strength of the American people.”
The President assured that Ukraine is firmly focused on further active development of relations of strategic partnership with the United States aimed at deepening comprehensive constructive cooperation in the sphere of politics, economy, security and humanitarian sphere.
