Candidate for the post of U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson during the Senate hearing spoke in favor of supplying Ukraine with lethal weapons in case of continuation of hostilities in the Donbass, informs “the Newspaper.ru”.
“I think it’s important for us to provide Ukraine with all the necessary support in order that she might protect herself from further expansion or aggression,” he said.
Responding to a question, Tillerson noted that such a decision would have had a meeting with the national security Council with the participation of other agencies, but confirmed that it would support such a decision.
Earlier, Tillerson said that the US will never recognize the Crimea to the Russian Federation without the approval of the people of Ukraine.
