The new NBU head should have “diplomatic talent”
The Minister of Finance Sergey Marchenko has told, who can become the new head of the National Bank of Ukraine. In an interview with “Today” Marchenko shared his vision of the candidate on an important position. In his opinion, a man should have “diplomatic talent”.
“First of all it should be someone with lots of experience – banker, macroeconomist. He should have diplomatic talent. It is important that this man had the confidence of the banking system and it is perceived by our international partners and investors,” explains Marchenko.
Responding to a question, the Finance Minister also expressed the hope that a suitable candidate will be found soon.
“I hope that this professional application will be found soon, it will support the Parliament and then we will start working with the new head of the national Bank”, – said Marchenko.

We will remind, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky gave to the Verkhovna Rada a draft resolution on the dismissal of Yakov Smoliy as head of the National Bank of Ukraine on 2 July.
After the resignation Smoliy perform the duties of the head of the NBU to appoint a new leader became the first Deputy head of the national Bank Ekaterina Rozhkova.
