New satellite images indicate the presence of a previously unknown existing nuclear facility near the capital of North Korea. About it on Wednesday, 8 July, reported CNN, citing data from experts of Institute of international studies, acting at Middlebury College in Vermont.
CNN quoted experts who drew attention to the features typical of other North Korean nuclear facilities. Thus, experts have noticed a protected area, underground room, as well as facilities designed to accommodate the staff.
“According to experts, the satellite photographs, provided by the U.S. company Planet Labs, indicate that in the village located in the outskirts of Pyongyang, is the current object, presumably associated with the nuclear program of the DPRK”, — stated in the message channel.
Earlier in the DPRK has developed a strategy of nuclear deterrence, which involves the “use of strategic forces only in case of emergency.”
