Pensions in Ukraine raise even in a crisis, which affects the replenishment of the Treasury by taxes, before payments on the national debt
In Ukraine, which recently held the indexation of pensions, it is difficult to increase pensions to the recipients of these payments. About it on a press-conferences were declared by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
“Indexation of pensions took place. All pensioners who live below the poverty line and received a pension for less than 5 thousand hryvnia, plus we added a thousand hryvnia. But we have 12 million pensioners in the country. It’s like two or three small European countries! It is very difficult to improve everything at once, but little by little we do it,” – said the head of state.
He noted that Ukraine must repay the payment to international lenders.
“We have a lot of money. Ukraine – a poor country that needs to pay every year billions of dollars. While we don’t print money. But all that can pay the retired, everyone will pay as quickly as possible,” promised Zelensky.
As you know, in 2020 Ukraine will have to pay the foreign debts to non-residents in foreign currency of $ 17 billion. Peak payments occur in the first quarter – 5,415 billion dollars and for the third quarter – 5,237 billion.
