In Ukraine there is an acute shortage of judges – Poroshenko

In Ukraine there is an acute shortage of judges. This was stated by the President Petro Poroshenko during his speech in the Verkhovna Rada.

“The load on one judge may be more than thousands of cases a year,” he said.

According to him, all anti-corruption cases are forced to consider only a few judges, and in some courts, judges do not. “This jeopardizes the right of Ukrainians to a fair trial” – said Poroshenko.

The President also called for the establishment of an anti-corruption court. “Build it fast, and taking into account the mistakes of other countries where organized anti-corruption courts was low efficiency,” – said Petro Poroshenko.

Earlier it was reported that BPP proposes Parliament to abandon the creation of the anti-corruption court.
