Parubiy will fight for the introduction of visas for Russians

The decision of the Council of national security and defense Council (NSDC) on improvement of the procedure of entry to Ukraine of foreigners does not remove the need for the introduction of a visa regime with Russia. This was stated by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andrew Parubiy.

“This issue does not remove the urgency of the introduction of visas for citizens of the Russian Federation. I continue to hold this question on control, and then I will look for supporters for this decision. I hope that we will also be able to find a positive solution”, – said Parubiy.

However, the Chairman of the Parliament, welcomed the decision of the Council on improvement of the procedure of crossing the Ukrainian border by foreigners and persons without citizenship. “This is the right move, which is aimed at limiting limitless entry to Ukraine of citizens of the Russian Federation”, – said the speaker.

The decision of the Council of 10 July 2017 introduces a system of recording biometric data of entry and departure from Ukraine of foreigners and persons without citizenship, strengthening compliance with the rules of stay on the territory of Ukraine. Published September 1, presidential decree No. 256/2017 from 30 August 2017 this decision enters into effect. The decree comes into force from the date of its publication.

The Cabinet within one month when requested by the SBU to provide a complex of measures on strengthening of control of entry and exit from Ukraine of foreigners, including Russian citizens and stateless persons, to take measures on improvement of the legislation on registration of residence or stay in Ukraine of foreigners, including citizens of the Russian Federation, and also persons without citizenship, coming from States of migration risk or have entered into Ukraine from the territory of such States. The Cabinet also requested to update the list of countries of migration risk, in particular to contribute to the Russian Federation.
