The Minister of defence of the USA James Mattis arrived in Ukraine to become better acquainted with the situation in the Donbass. He stated this at the briefing following the talks with Ukrainian leader Petro Poroshenko, reports 112.ua.
According to him, the US intends to strengthen relations with Ukraine.

“I think that no relation remains the same, they are strengthened or weakened. I want to assure you that we intend to strengthen the relations between our countries. I came here in order to better understand the situation faced by your soldiers on the front line. It gives me the opportunity to actively speak in support of the fact that reported your President and defense Minister,” said Mattis.
As reported by the Minister of defense, he was going to give the American President the recommendations on lethal weapons for Ukraine.
