The UN security Council, the delegation of Ukraine at the meeting on Monday recalled the third anniversary of the tragedy with the passenger flight MH17 and urged to make every effort to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
With the corresponding statement was made at a meeting of the security Council, the Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Sergiy Kyslytsya, UKRINFORM reported.
“Today, July 17, the world celebrates the international day of criminal justice. Today is the third anniversary, when the world learned about the downed flight MH17,” – said the Ukrainian diplomat.
He stressed that as of today we have made important steps to ensure justice. In this regard Sorrel was informed that on 5 July the President of the Security Council and the UN Secretary General was sent before them document S/2017/580, which informs on the joint decision of the members of the International investigation team. July 7, according to him, Ukraine and the Netherlands signed a bilateral agreement on international legal cooperation in the matter of the tragedy with MH17.
“In this regard, we urge all States to take measures to ensure the full implementation of resolution 2166 (2014) of the Security Council, which demands that all States fully contribute to the efforts to establish responsible”, – said the representative of Ukraine.
As reported before, the relatives of MH17 victims protested in front of the Russian Embassy in the Hague. They told the Dutch TV on Sunday, July 16, that the protest is directed against the attempts of Moscow to block the criminal investigation.
