The summit Ukraine-EU: what the European leaders will come

In Kiev on 12 and 13 July will host the 19 th summit EU-Ukraine and the European Union at the summit will be represented by European Council President Donald Tusk, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and EU high representative for foreign Affairs and security policy Federica Mogherini. This was announced by the EU delegation in Ukraine.

Also from the European side to the summit will be attended by the Vice-President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis, as well as European commissioners Johannes Hahn and Cecilia malmström.

The Ukrainian side at the summit will be headed by President Petro Poroshenko.

“During the summit, the leaders of States and EU institutions will celebrate the completion of the ratification process of the Association Agreement and the recent entry into force of the visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens. All of this is a concrete and important steps in the process of deepening partnership between the EU and Ukraine”, – said the representative of the EU.

In addition, the summit will discuss the progress of Ukrainian reforms and support from the EU.

“Among other topics of conversation leaders will be the issues related to conflict and crisis in the East of Ukraine, as well as regional issues and foreign policy issues. Among the latter: relations with Russia, energy security and the preparation of the summit of “Eastern partnership”, which is scheduled to take place in Brussels in November 2017,” – said the Embassy.

Under the program, the plenary session of the summit Ukraine-EU will be opened at 11 am on July 13, after which it is expected a joint press conference following the event.

We will remind, the Ambassador of EU in Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli said that the purpose of the Association Ukraine-EU political Association and economic integration, not the integration of Ukraine into the EU.
