Ukrainian farmers are able to actively ship early potatoes to foreign markets. The analysts note that the increased demand from exporting allows manufacturers to increase prices for specified products, despite the seasonal increase in the supply, reports “APK-inform: vegetables and fruits”.
As a result, over a week early potatoes in Ukraine rose by an average of 23%.
Today to shipping services are ready for UAH 7-9/kg (0,24-0,31 € /kg) depending on quality and variety. For comparison, a week ago the price of early potatoes in the Ukrainian market does not exceed UAH 7/kg.
Higher prices also contribute to not only high demand from companies from Belarus, but rather active pace of sales in the country. As a result, today the prices for early potatoes in Ukraine is 1.6-2 times higher than in mid-June 2016.
