The Cabinet gave a more modest forecast for growth of Ukraine’s economy than the IMF

The Ministry of economic development and trade (MEDT) of Ukraine predicts GDP growth in Ukraine by the end of 2017 at the level of 1.8%. About it reports a press-Department service.

The growth of the economy for the first time in the last five years, supported by expanding external demand for Ukrainian products in key commodity markets, the Ministry noted.

“The support of positive processes in the economy is wage growth, the gradual stabilization of the national currency (its exchange rate and price components), the continuation of the process of economic reform and improvement of business expectations,” says the Ministry.

We will remind, the IMF expects Ukraine’s GDP in 2017 will increase by 2%. The European Bank for reconstruction and development (EBRD), the largest international financial investor in Ukraine, also predicts economic growth of the country in 2017 2%.
